Did you know the Port of Long Beach houses the RMS Queen Mary, an old cruise ship from 1936 measuring 1,019.5 feet in length. It was acquired by the city of Long Beach for the sake of tourism. The ship never leaves port, but offers multiple attractions such as lodging and restaurants. The Queen Mary holds the distinction of having the top speed of any cruise ship for almost twenty years after its construction. The ship is a nice addition to what is already a world class port.
